Music and dance

Al Ardha is most compelling folk ritual in Saudi Arabia, it is a sword dance and is based on the ancient Bedouin tradition, in this dance drummers beat the drums on rhythm and poet chants verses while a man warring sword dance with shoulder to shoulder. It is Sibha folk music from Hejaz; it has also origin in the al-Andalu in Medina and Mecca . Songs and dance incorporate the sound of mizmar, oboe-like, which is an instrument in performance of mizma dance. Drum is an important instrument as far as tribal and traditional customs are concerned.

 

Smri is the popular form of tradition as well as form of music, poetry is sung in that tradition.

Dress

Dressing of Saudi Arabia follows some strict principles of "hijaab" (an Islamic principle of dressing). Predominantly flowing and loose covering garments that are helpful in the desert of Saudi Arabia according to there climate. Men wear ankle-length shirt traditionally that is woven from cotton or wool, women are decorated with some tribal motifs, sequins, coins and appliqués.

 

Food

Pork and drinking alcohol is prohibited in Islam, this is the law that has enforced Saudi Arabia strictly. An Arabic khobz, unleavened bread is commonly eaten with all meals almost. Lamb, chickpea fried balls and paste of fava, lemon and garlic and also famous is Saudi Arabia . Arabic tea is a primary drink that comes with different variations and flavors.

 

Film and theatre

Cinema and public theater are prohibited in Saudi Arabia , as Wahhabi tradition those instructions are to be incompatible with the Islamic Ideas. However, IMAX is allowed and available. Some private compounds as Ras Tanura Theater and Dhahran can be found, popular local music, are and theater are available rather than motion pictures. There is a plan made recently for cinemas, to give permission for Arabic cartoons.
